Singularity

The official itch.io page for the Singularity chat engine.

What is Singularity?

Singularity is a feature-packed chat engine coded in TurboWarp that uses Cloudlink to provide a chat space for everyone. Singularity is light-weight compared to most chat engines.

  • WhatsApp Desktop: ~150-200 MB
  • Telegram Desktop: ~40-100 MB
  • Discord: ~150-250 MB
  • Singularity: <50 MB

Why is it named Singularity?

In physics, a Singularity is an infinite amount of mass packed into a singular point. For the Singularity chat engine, this means many users join together in a small space to chat publicly, or privately with a room code.

Why choose Singularity?

Compared to basic chat engines, you can customize Singularity however you want. Colors? Sounds? You name it, you can customize it. While you're connected, you can also join a small room from a room code and chat privately with your friends. You also have your very own custom spam filter where you can add keywords to a list and flag or hide any spam messages that start with, contain, or are exactly one keyword/keyphrase.

Why not choose Singularity?

Singularity does come with its drawbacks, too. For one, Singularity currently runs on a public WebSocket server. This means it is open to anyone. Trolls can spam global chat and cause disruption. While you can filter out spam using your custom spam filter, if chat gets spammed, it may cause Singularity to bug out and not show your message. The server can also go offline without warning and we cannot control when it will come back online.

Don't worry, we plan on paying for a private WebSocket server in the future so you don't need to worry about spam disrupting your chats.
